Are Wild Morpho Retreats women-only?
Yes. Wild Morpho Retreats are intentionally designed as women-only experiences to create a sense of safety, ease, and shared understanding.

  • Guided self-reflection and coaching circles
  • Beach time and ocean excursions

What kind of transformation can I expect?
Every woman’s experience is different. Some guests leave feeling deeply rested, others gain clarity, emotional release, inspiration, or a renewed connection to themselves. There is no pressure to transform in any particular way—whatever unfolds is welcome.
Do I need to be physically fit or experienced in yoga?

    Travel & Arrival Information

Everything you need to know about insurance, solo travel, flights, packing, and airport transfers to ensure a smooth and supported journey to your retreat.
Is Costa Rica a safe country to visit?
Costa Rica is widely considered one of the safest and most stable countries in Latin America and has a long history as a welcoming destination for international travelers. Many women travel here independently each year for nature, wellness, and retreat experiences. As with travel anywhere in the world, guests are encouraged to use normal awareness with personal belongings and travel logistics.
    How do I get there?

Guests fly into San José International Airport (SJO). In addition, there is a short domestic flight from San José to Golfito, which brings you closer to the retreat location. The round-trip domestic flight between San José and Golfito typically costs approximately $300–$375 USD, depending on season and availability

About two months before arrival, the retreat host will assist with coordinating and booking this domestic flight on your behalf at cost.  Once the flight is booked, guests simply reimburse the host for the total amount. Guests may include these flights in their travel insurance coverage.  Detailed arrival instructions, timelines, and support are provided well in advance so you can travel with ease and confidence.

    Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfers are not included in or from San José. Guests travel independently to the regional airport in Golfito. From Golfito, scheduled group transfers to and from the retreat house are included within designated arrival and departure windows for each retreat. Guests arriving or departing outside those windows can easily arrange a private taxi between Golfito and the retreat house (approximately $80 USD one way). Detailed transfer timing and travel guidance are provided after booking.
    Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is required for all Wild Morpho retreats and must be purchased within two weeks of booking. Insurance helps protect guests in the event of travel delays, cancellations, illness, or unexpected changes and is an important safeguard when traveling internationally.
Is it safe to travel solo to the retreat?
Yes. Many guests arrive solo. Safety, care, and support are central to the retreat design, from transportation to accommodations to group dynamics.
    What should I pack?
A packing guide is provided after registration, but generally you’ll want comfortable clothing, swimwear, light layers, walking shoes, a journal, and any personal comfort items.

    Care, Comfort & Accommodations

What if I have health concerns or medical conditions or there is an accident?
If you have any medical conditions, mobility limitations, severe allergies, or concerns about being in a remote setting, we ask that you schedule a short Zoom call with Yvonne before booking so we can discuss your needs together and ensure this environment will feel safe and supportive for you.

A local doctor and pharmacy are located within 15 minutes of the retreat. A second doctor is approximately 35 minutes away, and regional hospitals are located about 1.5 hours from the retreat area.

While local medical support is available, the area is remote and emergency response times and access to advanced medical care are typically slower than in urban settings. Guests should be comfortable staying in a natural, off-the-beaten-path location where services may take longer to reach the property in the event of a major medical situation.
Are there insects or wildlife I should be aware of?
Costa Rica is a vibrant tropical environment, and guests should expect the presence of nature, including insects and small wildlife. Mosquitoes are generally minimal around the retreat house itself but can be present during jungle or waterfall excursions, so bringing your preferred mosquito repellent is recommended. While the retreat property is considered very safe, guests may occasionally encounter wildlife—such as snakes, jellyfish, biting insects, or other animals— during nature activities.
Is Wi-Fi or cell service available?
The retreat house has reliable Wi-Fi, and most guests are able to connect normally during their stay. However, the region is rural, and occasional power outages can occur in southern Costa Rica. During these brief periods, Wi-Fi and air conditioning may be temporarily unavailable. When this happens, we simply open the house to the breeze and relax outdoors by the pool or in shaded spaces.

Guests who wish to use mobile service in Costa Rica can usually add a temporary international or Costa Rica plan through their phone provider, though this is generally only needed if traveling independently before or after the retreat.
    What is the food like?
Meals are thoughtfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients and designed to be nourishing, flavorful, and grounding. Dietary needs and allergies can be accommodated with advance notice.
Can dietary needs or allergies be accommodated?
Yes. We are happy to accommodate dietary needs, preferences, and allergies. Guests will share this information on their pre-retreat forms after booking so meals can be planned with care. Our kitchen is very flexible and experienced with a range of dietary requirements.
What are the sleeping arrangements like?
All accommodations at Wild Morpho are shared. The retreat house includes two bedrooms downstairs (two beds per room) and an upstairs shared room with loft space (the Butterfly Flat and Hummingbird Perch) that accommodates up to four women. Shared bathrooms are also part of the retreat environment. This intimate arrangement supports connection while still allowing personal quiet time throughout the property.
    What is the weather like?
Wild Morpho retreats are scheduled at the beginning of Costa Rica’s dry season. The December and May retreats may include occasional short afternoon or evening rain showers, which are typically gentle, cooling, and part of the region’s lush beauty. From February through April, guests can expect mostly hot, sunny, and dry conditions, with warm days and balmy tropical evenings.
    What language is spoken locally?
Spanish is the primary language in the region. However, many people in the Pavones/Golfito area who work with visitors speak conversational English, and guests generally find communication easy during their stay.

    Kind Words from Our Community

I felt a great connection to the offering of spaciousness in my womanhood, and the chance to let go of responsibility. Once I was able to fully relax into it, the transformation began.

The vision work with Eliza helped me realize my values and what steps are available for me to move toward them. The morning yoga also helped me release and renew. I also loved the cacao ceremony.

I leave with an open heart and open possibilities. I really enjoyed connecting with all the women who shared this retreat with me.
